A Modern Transformation: The 1980’s Condo Makeover
One of our standout projects was transforming a standard 1980’s condo into a stunning contemporary space. We approached this project with a vision to create an open, modern, and highly functional home.
Kitchen: The Heart of the Home
The kitchen, often considered the heart of the home, received a major makeover. By removing the partition wall and breakfast bar, we significantly enlarged the space. We installed high-quality solid wood white cabinets that provide ample storage and a clean, modern look. The “Raven Quartz” countertops and gray porcelain backsplashes add a touch of elegance, complemented by the large island with a counter-height breakfast bar.
All new stainless steel professional appliances ensure both style and functionality. To enhance the ambiance, we added under-cabinet Xenon lighting on dimmers, as well as stunning pendant lights, also on dimmers. This lighting setup allows for versatile mood settings, perfect for any occasion.
Living Space: Open and Inviting
In the living space, we replaced the existing beige carpet with fabulous hand-scraped hickory hardwoods. This change not only modernized the look but also added warmth and character to the home. The existing safety wall at the top of the stairs was removed and replaced with a clear plate glass panel and stainless steel banisters, creating an open and contemporary feel.
Master Bathroom: A Luxurious Retreat
The master bathroom was transformed into a luxurious retreat. We slightly enlarged the shower and rebuilt it with a custom concrete base. The new 12″x 24″ rectified gray porcelain tiles, accented with white mosaic glass, provide a sleek and sophisticated look. The installation of a stunning body shower system and a new 3/8″ frameless glass enclosure ensures a spa-like experience at home.
The master vanity cabinets were resprayed with white semigloss and fitted with stainless pulls. We added black granite counters, porcelain vessel sinks, and brushed nickel single-handle faucets. New porcelain floor tiles, halogen lighting, and a European-style toilet completed this modern makeover.
Entryway and Guest Bathroom: Welcoming and Functional
The entryway was updated by replacing the old gray granite tile with jet black 12″x 24″ rectified porcelain, creating a striking first impression. The guest bathroom received a similar style update to match the master bathroom, including a frameless glass bypass shower door over the new tub.
