At Millwood Remodeling & Design, we pride ourselves on transforming outdated spaces into modern masterpieces. Our recent project involving two guest bathrooms perfectly exemplifies our commitment to quality, attention to detail, and innovative design. This page details the challenges we faced and the remarkable outcomes we achieved.
A Ground-Up Transformation: The First Guest Bathroom
Challenges of a Complete Overhaul
The first guest bathroom presented us with a blank canvas, as we embarked on a ground-up transformation. The existing 50-year-old builder’s standard bathroom was in dire need of a complete overhaul. Demolition was our first step, where we meticulously removed every element, laying the groundwork for a contemporary and luxurious space.
Stunning Outcome: A Modern Masterpiece
We installed an Espresso-colored floating vanity, paired with an exotic custom granite counter. The dark, rich tones of the vanity set the stage for the rest of the bathroom’s design. The addition of an artisan glass vessel sink, combined with matte black faucet and hardware, created a striking visual contrast. To further elevate the ambiance, we incorporated under-cabinet LED lighting, which cast a soft glow on the stunning dark gray porcelain tile floor. The final touches included a new mirror and two tall sconce lights, which added elegance and functionality to the space. The installation of a high-end Kohler black toilet completed the transformation, ensuring the bathroom was both beautiful and practical.
From Outdated to Outstanding: The Second Guest Bathroom
Challenges of Remodeling a 70’s Jack & Jill Bathroom
The second guest bathroom was a classic 70’s Jack & Jill layout with two separate vanities. This space required significant updates to bring it into the 21st century. The removal of the old tub was our first major task, and we aimed to create a stunning, spacious shower that would become the bathroom’s centerpiece.
Stunning Outcome: A Luxurious Retreat
Our team crafted a gorgeous shower with travertine stone and accents, offering both durability and timeless beauty. The Oil Rubbed Bronze shower faucet hardware by Kohler added a touch of vintage elegance, while the custom 3/8” frameless glass enclosure highlighted the shower’s generous size and intricate details.
The two vanities were replaced with J&K Cabinetry base cabinets, known for their quality and style. We then added warm quartzite custom counters and backsplashes, which brought a cohesive and sophisticated look to the space. One of the standout features of this remodel was the installation of two new LED mirrors. These mirrors not only enhanced the bathroom’s functionality but also gave it a huge “WOW” factor, illuminating the space with a modern flair.
