The Vision: A Functional and Luxurious Living Space
The client envisioned a seamless and open space that combined functionality with elegance. They wanted to integrate their kitchen, pantry, and laundry room into a cohesive design while also upgrading the floors throughout the home. It was a major undertaking, but with careful planning and expert execution, we were ready to deliver.
Creating Space With Structural Work Using LVL Beams
To achieve the open-concept design the client desired, we removed the main supporting wall between the kitchen and the den. This required meticulous structural work, including the installation of a 22-foot-wide opening supported by LVL beams. This transformation not only opened up the space but also created a stunning flow between the kitchen and the living areas, making the home feel larger and more inviting.
Custom Cabinetry
No detail was spared in creating custom maple cabinets for the kitchen. These cabinets were fabricated from scratch by our skilled craftsmen and then painted a sophisticated linen white, creating a timeless and clean aesthetic. To add contrast and depth, the island was stained in a rich dark walnut finish, making it a standout feature in the room.
The pantry and laundry room were also gutted and rebuilt with new cabinets from J&K Cabinetry. These spaces are now as functional as they are beautiful, providing ample storage and an efficient layout for daily use.
Hardwood Flooring Installation
The floors throughout the home were a key part of this transformation. We installed brand-new oak hardwoods in the kitchen and pantry, seamlessly blending them with the existing flooring in the rest of the house. The entire floor was then sanded and restained to ensure a uniform look. The result is a stunning foundation that ties the entire home together with warmth and elegance.
