The original master bathroom, while spacious, was laden with dated features, including faux columns beside the tub and an overuse of dull stone that contributed to a lackluster ambiance. The shower, a walk-in cave of complexities and odd walls, lacked the openness and luxury one would expect in such a grand residence.
The Transformation: Millwood’s Touch of Modernity
Our vision for this bathroom was clear: to create a space that exudes modern elegance and functional sophistication. We started with the demolition of the old fixtures and features, including the funky columns and the cave-like shower, making way for a fresh, contemporary design.
Luxurious Spa-like Experience
Central to our redesign was the installation of a new Kohler undermount jet/spa tub, complete with a sleek chrome wall faucet, signifying the epitome of modern luxury. The new vanity cabinets, sourced from J&K, feature quartz countertops, adding a touch of refined elegance. Above these cabinets, we custom-fabricated oversized LED mirrors that not only enhance the visual space but also add a futuristic edge to the room.
A Shower Redefined
The new shower area is nothing short of a masterpiece. Designed with a “zero threshold” and enclosed in frameless glass, it offers an unobstructed, expansive feel. Equipped with two Kohler shower systems, including a flexible handshower and fixed wall-mounted heads, plus a separate large rainshower head, the shower offers an unrivaled experience. The glazed porcelain tiles, each an impressive 72” x 36”, installed by our skilled tile crew, add to the grandeur of the space.
Innovative Comfort Features
Understanding the need for comfort in luxury, we incorporated a special ceiling heater in the shower area, ensuring a warm, enveloping environment. Additionally, a shower-rated extractor fan was installed to maintain air quality and prevent moisture build-up, marking a perfect blend of functionality and design.
