The Challenge
Our journey began with a kitchen trapped in the past – confined, dated, and longing for a breath of fresh air. The original layout was a product of its time, with closed-off spaces that hindered both light and interaction. The homeowners desired a kitchen that was not only functional but also a central hub for family gatherings and entertainment.
The Vision
We envisioned a space that was open, inviting, and luxurious. Our goal was to create a kitchen that would be the heart of the home, combining practicality with elegance. We wanted to ensure that every inch of the space was utilized efficiently while maintaining an aesthetic appeal.
The Transformation
The metamorphosis began with demolishing the wall separating the kitchen from the den, instantly creating a sense of openness and connectivity. This significant structural change was complemented by the introduction of a stunning two-level split breakfast bar and dining area, offering a versatile space for both casual breakfasts and formal dining.
We didn’t stop there. The original wall to the adjacent dining room was removed, allowing us to extend the cabinetry into this new space. The result was an impressive expanse of over 27 feet of beautifully crafted cabinets, complemented by a separate prep sink and a functional island. These changes not only enhanced the kitchen’s aesthetics but also its practicality, providing ample storage and workspace.
The Remodel and Design Details
The centerpiece of this kitchen is the majestic 45-inch wide main sink, equipped with dual chef’s faucets and a dedicated drinking water dispenser. We incorporated various accessories like a colander and cutting board, ensuring that the sink area was not just a cleaning space but a functional part of the cooking process.
Flooring is often overlooked, but not in this project. We chose chiseled edge travertine stone, which brought an earthy warmth and unmatched elegance to the space. The counters, in White Carrara quartz, and the Italian white/gray marble backsplashes, are not just surfaces but statements of luxury and style.
Lighting plays a crucial role in setting the ambiance. We installed an array of recessed LED ceiling lights and under-cabinet LEDs, all controlled by Smart Dimmers, to ensure that the kitchen could transition from a bright, energizing morning space to a cozy, intimate evening area.
The Outcome
Completing this project in a remarkable 7-week timeframe, our team, led by the talented Cesar, transformed this kitchen into what we proudly consider our finest project to date. The new kitchen is a harmonious blend of functionality and style, a testament to our commitment to excellence in remodeling and design.
