A Glimpse into Our Work: A Stunning 1960’s Home Transformation
Imagine a 1960s kitchen that has been completely revamped to become a symbol of modern elegance. We achieved this with one of our past projects in Flower Mound. The once-traditional kitchen now boasts Shaker-style Espresso cabinets, perfectly complemented by “White River” custom granite countertops. We took a bold step and removed a significant section of the wall to create a breathtaking open kitchen, complete with a counter-height breakfast bar. The pendant lights that adorn this space on a separate dimmer circuit add a touch of sophistication.
Not stopping there, we designed a built-in space for the new refrigerator and replaced outdated 60s metal cans with new 3″ recessed halogen lights. The addition of undercabinet lighting infuses warmth and coziness into this spacious kitchen. We also installed an undermount stainless steel sink and faucet, making it both lovely and functional. A stainless steel and glass cooker hood were connected to an exterior vent pipe for efficient ventilation. The backsplashes, crafted from 4×4 tumbled marble with small bronze accent relief tiles, are nothing short of extraordinary. Finally, the unfilled chiseled edge travertine floor, laid in a “Versailles” pattern, ties the entire kitchen together.
Not just the kitchen, we breathed new life into the den, dining room, and formals by installing Italian hand-scraped tobacco-colored hardwoods. The old brick fireplace was refreshed with a coat of “Dark Cavern” paint, bringing it into the modern age. We created a stunning display recess with hidden halogen lighting to highlight the newly enlarged entryway. The stairs were given a makeover with matching hardwood treads and restained banisters. The old wood paneling was brought up to date with a coat of white oil-based semigloss paint, along with the vertical tread boards.
Master Bathroom Remodel
But the true transformation began with the master bathroom. Walls were removed, and the entire space was gutted to make way for a new custom shower with a frameless enclosure. We installed a new vanity and a luxurious tub, all complemented by travertine tile and stone edging. The elegant granite top, undermount sinks, framed mirrors, and new lights complete the space. In the master bedroom, we added a French door that floods the room with natural light and opens up to a beautiful pool view. New paint and carpet completed this stunning master suite.
Guest Bathroom and Storage Upgrades
The old guest bathroom was creatively relocated to an adjacent closet space, featuring a fabulous “Adobe Trowel” glazed texture on the walls. The 5th bedroom underwent a slight transformation to become a stylish new study. We demolished the old pantry and built a spacious, double pantry.
