Whole House Remodel in Addison, TX for Ed B

This 1980’s, 2 bed/2 bath, home was extensively updated to bring it into the 21st century! Typical 80’s layout meant the original kitchen was cut off from the main living area. We opened up the wall between the den and kitchen which gives it a modern flow and makes the home seem significantly larger. The original entryway was very uninspiring and had a small unusable closet (on the right). We installed a new solid mahogany door, stained in dark ‘mission oak’ with a satin finish. The old closet was removed and converted to a display niche with LED lighting, plus a new recessed LED over the door entry.

We removed the old tall pantry units to enlarge the space to allow for more base cabinets with a ‘stacked stone’ backsplash and a special microwave cabinet. The new cabinets have solid wood fronts with soft closing doors and drawers. A new Viking 36″ gas range with a new stainless extractor vent hood with halogen lights is the central feature in this wonderful kitchen. The new undermount stainless steel sink features a touch-control ‘Delta’ faucet and soap dispenser. Also note the new recessed LED ceiling lights and the stunning travertine tile floor (24×24 slabs). All the windows were also replaced in the home.

You will see the den is a work in progress. We painted the far wall in a dark accent color to show off the large flat screen TV. We have added new pantry units and replaced the original laminate floors throughout the house with handscraped Italian hardwoods and all new baseboards. The master bedroom received new matching hardwood floors and repainted in a warm neutral color. The patio doors will eventually be replaced.
